I’ve been to the Mayfield Dinner Theatre a handful of times. I actually quite enjoy the experience. The performances are usually very good. There’s often a lot of Canadian talent during the shows. Located at the Double tree, there is ample amount of parking. Most recently, I went to Sleuth, which is still currently playing (Summer 2019).
I’ve only gone during the evening, but they do brunch shows as well. Evening shows usually start at 6, and usually ends at around 10PM. It is a bit of a long time, but the buffet begins at 6. If you eat quickly, you could probably get away with showing up at 7 but I generally try to go a bit earlier so I can slowly enjoy my meal.
They change up the menu relatively often, but keep a few key things, being the Roast Beef striploin, Yorkshire pudding, and au jus.
It’s not a very extensive buffet, but I find that the quality is relatively good. There are salads, a few entrees, and a small sushi/seafood section. On my occasion, there was smoked salmon, pasta salads, BBQ pork ribs. They also have olive, cheeses, and charcuterie. There are also several housemade desserts which are quite good. A good mix overall!
I definitely recommend giving the dinner theatre a try if you’ve never been, at least once. You can even buy season tickets which gets you 4 tickets, one to each show throughout the year. It reduces the price a little bit and gives you something to look forward to.
