Indulgence is an annual fundraiser event organized by the Junior League of Edmonton. It is one of Edmonton’s premier food & drink events. Indulgence brings together the best of our local food and agriculture community, with restaurants and VQA wineries, microbreweries & distillers.

At Indulgence, each restaurant is paired with a local farmer or rancher, and creates a signature dish from a product grown or raised by that food producer. A Canadian wine, local craft beer or distiller then pairs their selections to complement the dish.Indulgence is a volunteer-driven, charitable event in support of the Junior League of Edmonton, and the students of the NAIT Culinary Arts program.

I had the opportunity to participate in this year’s Indulgence. It was my first experience at the event and I can definitely see myself participating again in future years. You can read more about the Junior League of Edmonton here and about Indulgence here.

It was held at the Delta hotel this year, and some of the partner restaurants/businesses were Winding Road Artisan Cheese, Black Market Wine co., The Cave Paleo Beastro, Summerhill pyramid winery, Cilantro And Chive, North 49 Fruit, Campio Brewing, Sylvan Star Cheese farm, Sandhill Wines, Ernest’s At NAIT, Gruger Family Fungi, Stoneboat Vineyards, The Gladd Monkey, Highlands Golf Club, Sunworks Farm, Misson Hill, Kitchen By Brad, Irvings Farm fresh, Northern Chicken, Four Whistles Farm, Bent Stick Brewing, Pampa, Royal Glenora, Eau Claire Distillery, The Marc, Stonepost Farms, Meuwly’s, Jacek, and several others!

Some of these establishments are my favourite around the city and some that I frequent often, so it was great to see them participating. There were so many dishes and everything was excellent. I’ll provide captions of each item underneath, but if you want to know more about any particular thing, feel free to ask!

I will have to say that the tortellini from the Highlands Golf Club was probably my favourite dish of the night. I’ve had several dishes made/prepared by Chef Vikram Redgaonkar and they’ve all been wonderful.

Another favourite of mine was the Roast and caramelized spanish onion Jus by the Royal Glenora Club. I’ve also had many dishes by Chef Steve Buzak and all of them have been excellent.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that I’m always using Meuwlys products or buying their Charcuterie! Soo good.

Overall, had a great night at Indulgence. It’s an amazing event and for a good cause. I definitely recommend checking out this event as it happens annually. Great to see a room full of local restaurants and businesses supporting a great charity.
