In the last couple years, Shaved ice and Asian desserts have really exploded in YEG! There are so many places to try! Here, I briefly rank my favourite!
1. Let Eat Snow
#18A, 9261 34 Ave NW, Edmonton

Located in Edmonton’s K-mall, is Let Eat Snow. By far is my favourite place for shaved ice! They often have a seasonal flavour and many different kinds of desserts. On one of the times I went, I got the Taro shaved ice. Not too sweet, and delicious! It had a nice strong Taro flavour and overall was really good. Their other shaved ice flavours are really good, and I appreciate finding nice little treats at the bottom of the shaved ice! There’s often bits of cookies, or something crunchy that gives that nice and welcomed added texture!
2. Zen Q
10807 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB

Zen Q, in my opinion, is a less obvious option. They don’t do shaved ice persay, but they have something called a milk tea frappe, which is a shaved ice that’s flavoured with milk tea! It also gets served along side some tapioca pearls! Yum! Definitely up there for me
3. Dream Tea
7912 104 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 4C8

The next two might vary in quality now, as I’ve heard some mixed reviews from people. For the time being, only the Whyte Avenue location serves shaved ice. The times that I’ve gone, it’s been really good. It’s sizeable, the toppings are fresh, and it’s quite good.
4. Snowy Village Dessert Cafe
11022 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB

I’ve had Snowy Village in Vancouver and it’s pretty good! I’ve had it a few times in Edmonton and the quality is very very variable. I’ve seen horror photos of brown sludge mango but also some beautifully fresh mango. It’s difficult to say where they rank for me. For the most part, I’ve only had it when it was pretty high quality. I would say try and stick with Let Eat Snow since it’s A), local, and B) better.

Edit: At first I had Snowbear on the list but I’ve just discovered that they are permanently closed! Also, I haven’t had the chance to try snowy dessert so I’m not sure exactly where it will fall in my ranking! I will try to go soon and update the post!
Hanjan has really good bingsoo as well!

Ok, I’ve been wanting to try these for the longest time, so thanks for the list. Also, am assuming, these things need to be eaten by more than just a single person right? Coz it looks so huge!
