Last week I had the chance to try Northern Chicken. I had some of their chicken at Taste of Edmonton last year, and since then, I’ve always wanted to try out some of their other food.
I actually ordered their food via Foodora, but it still came hot and crispy. I opted to get their 3 peice chicken, the honey thyme cornbread, the dorito mac and cheese, and the spicy fried chicken sandwich and potato salad.

My favourite thing was the spicy fried chicken sandwich. This came with fried chicken breast, pickles, slaw, mayo, served on thick texas toast and a side of potato salad. The chicken was juicy and tender, and delicious. The pickles and slaw really complimented the chicken and it was very enjoyable to eat.

The potato salad side was not too bad. Personally did not enjoy the flavours/seasoning and much preferred their other sides a bit more.

I generally really like cornbread and this was pretty good. I really liked the sweetness from the honey. Very tasty and would definitely get again.

The macaroni and cheese was creamy, decadent, and delicious. The crushed doritos gave it some nice textural notes. Overall, a good side to go along with the chicken.

Lastly, the fried chicken was quite good. It has a good crunch. I only got the hot, but I think I could have gone with the extra hot. The chicken was moist, well-seasoned, and enjoyable to eat. This comes with a side of coleslaw which helps cool down the heat and gives it a good contrast.
Overall, I enjoyed Nothern Chicken. They have other dishes here and I’ll definitely have to go to their restaurant to try the other food. Give them a try for yourself!
