431 10 Ave SE, Calgary
When I ask people where I should go for food in Calgary, Village Ice Cream is often one of the places that people recommend for dessert, or as a “must-stop” place. There are three different locations in Calgary, and luckily, our airbnb was 2 minutes away from their downtown location.
Parking-wise, downtown Calgary can be a bit of a gong-show. I didn’t see too many available places nearby, but there are always meters around. If you’re just going for ice cream, I’d recommend going to the other two Village locations.
For flavours, they have 10 that are always fresh and available, and they also have some seasonal flavours as well. You can also come in to buy some of your favourite ice cream to take home as well!
To date, I’ve had the Two Hills Earl Grey, the Cardamom, the Salted Caramel and the Village Vanilla bean. On this occasion, I opted to have get one of their seasonals, the Salty Malty Pretzel on one of their house-made waffle cones.

The salty malty pretzel is one of my favourite ice creams flavours thus far. Salty, creamy, and with soft chunks of pretzels, this was a winner for us. Great ice cream, for a modest price, you can be sure that I will be back for some more if I’m every in the area!
Give this place a try if you’re in the area!
