Love Pizza

Last weekend I did some much needed catching up with my friend Mina, and I also hadn’t been to Love Pizza yet, so I figured why not kill two birds with one stone!

It’s located right on Jasper and 109th street in Canterra Centre. The interior is nice and simple with a white and black theme. The menu is posted up on boards for you to see Most of their ingredients are obtained locally and they post a list of all of their local partners, which is really cool!

You have the option of building your own pizza, or choosing some of their signature pizzas (both $11.95). They even have vegan options and Daiya cheese for if you make your own pizza. On this occasion we opted for one of their own creations because they all sound so good! We went with the Meatatarian and the City Market.

For choice of crust, you can choose between their traditional Caputo ’00’, their 100% Organic Whole Wheat, or a Gluten free crust, which is an extra $3. We got both their white dough for our pizzas. They also have salads here, which actually look pretty good from what I saw!

Meatatarian with arugula

The Meatatarian comes with tangy tomato sauce, Fior Di Latte, italian sausage from Calgary’s Spolumbo’s, pepperoni, capicolla, and shaved parmesan. They also have a bunch of finishings that you can add on and we went with some fresh arugula. This pizza was really good! There was a really generous amount of meat, which I always love. Definitely see this being a crowd favourite.

City Market

The other pizza we got was the city market. We also got this on their traditional Caputo ‘oo’ crust. It was roasted garlic spread, pesto pulled chicken, artichoke hearts, pickled red onions, and goat cheese. I actually enjoyed this pizza more! I like white sauces with pizza, and the roasted garlic spread was really good. The chicken was really tender and the pickled red onions really gave a nice crunch and aspect to the pizza.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience here. It’s really nice and casual and I really like the mom and pop feel of the store. The owners are really nice and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The pizza is a decent size and it’s really cheap. Definitely see this place being quite busy at lunch. I’d definitely come back here to try out some of their other signature pizzas and creating my own! Definitely recommend giving this place a try.
