Late post! I was invited to give Match Brunch a try at a media event a little while back. It was getting just the slightest bit chilly, but still nice enough to sit on their patio. It was a very relaxed event and I got to meet tons of lifestyle bloggers and people from other industries, which I don’t often get to do! Check their page(s) out here: Dave Pavelich (IG), Glenny Mah (IG) (Website), Anton Atienza (IG), Amber White (IG), Kailey White (IG), Jade Tang (IG), Shafraaz Dossa (IG), Shaylene Cameron (IG), Tessa/Zoe (IG) and Camille (IG).

For Brunch, we started off with some mimosas. We were on the patio and the lighting was very good, so forgive me, I took a ridiculous amount of photos. The tables were nicely decorated with red roses which was a nice touch.

To start off, we were able to share the sweet french toast bites. This is bite sized brioche french toast with a Kentucky bourbon caramel dip. Being bite sized, it increased the surface area and all sides had a nice and delightful crisp edge. The caramel dip was sweet, but not overwhelming. Really nice way to start.

We got several different things to try, so I will just talk about my favourites. The Huevos Tacos. These are 3 soft breakfast tacos with pulled bacon, scrambled eggs, cotija cheese, avocado, fire roasted salsa, crispy crackling, cilantro, tots, and a side of Mexican hot sauce. This might have been my favourite bite from brunch. Pulled bacon, eggs, cheese, avocado, all in a warm tortilla, what more can you as for. Really good and delicious.

Another favourite of mine was the blacked shrimp benny. Two locally farmed poached eggs, butter griddled English Muffins, Cajun Blackened tiger shrimp and avocado, house-made lemon hollandaise. Delicious. Benny’s are always my go-to order when I go for brunch and this benny was an egg-cellent one!

Other dishes that we sampled were the chicken and waffles, the avocado toast, the steak and eggs, and for a sweet bite, we had s’mores.

Overall, it was a very fun event. The prices at Match Eatery is very reasonable. You can check out their full menu here. It was fun meeting everyone and trying the food. It’s actually one of the better options for brunch in WEM and a great way to get a quick bite in before a full day of shopping.
