I was invited to check out the new Atlas inside of West Edmonton a little while ago. It’s a beautiful space that is big and gorgeous! I would definitely recommend having your birthday party here. It’s owned by the same group that owns the casinos, both downtown and at West Edmonton Mall. They have private dining rooms which you can book which are beautiful and have large windows for natural light.

Parking is challenging to find at West Edmonton Mall, but there’s always overflow in the lot adjacent to the mall. For food, we sampled a variety of dishes from their menu.

Beef Tartare

The Beef Tartare was one of my favourite items. It’s hand minced tenderloin, miso mustard, pickled daikon, quail egg, and served with a gnocco fritto which is a puffed and fried bread. Delicious! Definitely recommend ordering this dish.

Tempura Softshell crab

The Tempura softshell crab is a whole crab fried in tempura better. It is light and crispy and overall really good. A bit small, and difficult to share, but the dish is only $10.

Bomr Lake Duck Breast

Next we had the Brome Lake Duck Breast. It’s cooked to a perfect medium rare, and served with pan roasted sweet potato and apple slaw. You can really taste the five spice in the duck and it tastes very similar to the BBQ duck you might find in Chinatown, but way more tender!

Spicy Lobster Spaghettini

We also had the Spicy lobster spaghettini which comes with roasted tomato, fresno chillies, and salt spring mussels. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauce had a nice kick to it! Overall, pretty good, though I think I would stick to the other dishes.

Seafood Tower

For seafood, we had the Seafood Tower. This comes with lobster tail, king crab legs, oysteres, mussels, jumbo prawn, and served with a cocktail sauce. Really good and high quality! If you’re going to go for seafood, I definitely recommend going on a Thursday where the seafood is half off!

Double R Ranch Tomahawk Steak

Another thing we had was the Double R Ranch Tomahawk Steak. This is a 48 oz steak! It was incredibly tender and delicious! Being beside the casino, I can definitely see people who win big come into Atlas and ordering this dish!

Baked Alaska

Lastly, we had the baked Alaska which was flambéd tableside. Raspberry coconut ice cream, lemon sorbet, orange vanilla cake, italian meringue. Baked Alaska used to be a very popular dessert several decades ago and it’s interesting to see it on the menu now! It was neat to see it being flambed table side! The flavours were really good and it wasn’t too sweet! Just a couple bites was enough for me given how much food we had just ate!

Overall, I had an excellent time at Atlas. All of the food was very high quality and I would definitely recommend it and come back. It is a bit on the pricier side. As with a lot of places like this, I always see myself ordering several appetizers rather than one big entree. I like being able to try multiple things! I would definitely recommend coming here with a small group so you’re able to share a few dishes!
