PIP! I’ve been trying to go here ever since it opened, but the numerous times that I’ve tried to go, the wait has always been ridiculous (and then I just go to their sister restaurant, MEAT, assuming their wait isn’t too long).

It’s located just off Whyte near the Strathacona market, and beside their sister restaurants MEAT and The Next Act. For parking, you mostly have to rely on parking up and down Whyte or the parking in the side streets. I went and had a mini meetup with Lydia from YEGCravings, Grace from Ohthatcrave, and Ian from Ian_eats. I’m always up for meeting new people and didn’t have to plan/organize so it was win win.

For food, I decided to go with the feature, a breakfast sandwich with bacon, scrambled eggs, mushroom aioli, and melted havarti cheese. I’ve been really wanting to try their other dishes but couldn’t pass it up! Others at the table got the avocado toast and the short rib Benedict.

Feature Breakfast Sandwich

I am so glad I got the feature because it was absolutely amazing. Honestly probably the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. There was a generous amount of thick bacon, the eggs were so soft, and the mushroom aioli was so flavourful. Definitely would come back to order this or another feature!

Avocado Toast

The avocado toast comes with a poached egg, bacon, crushed chillies on sourdough with their house hash. I didn’t get to try any of this but it looks really good! will definitely need to go back and give it a try.

Short Rib Eggs Benedict

The Short Rib Eggs benedict was a really close second order for me. It comes with braised beef, carmelized onion, and a dill hollandaise with house hash. I did try a piece of the braised beef and it was really tender and good. The hollandaise is quite buttery.

Overall, it was a really good time! It is a pretty small place so wait times can be long. The first table we got was a bit awkward and small and we had to sit on the same side of the booth. I would have been okay with that but then an adjacent table slightly larger opened up right before we ordered so we shuffled down. I want to come back for dinner some time, or for brunch to try their other dishes. I was really late to the game with trying this place but definitely worth going.
