Another stop on one of the food tours I had in Calgary was at Yann Haute Patisserie. The exterior looks like the house, and interior is a small and elegant. They have macarons on display when you walk in on the left, and then a large array of other pastries as well to the right.
Reading reviews, and seeing the mass amount of flavours they have of macarons, we naturally had to get some. We went with Pistachio, matcha black sesame, pumpkin , chai and blue berry, chocolate banana, and rose lychee. They also had some extra green-apple vodka macarons that they had made for a wedding the previous day, and asked if we wanted to try these ones, and of course, we obliged.
The other pastries we got were the mille feuille, pistachio and cherry tart, a regular croissant, and an almond croissant.

The mille feuille is a classic vanilla cream and caramelized puff pastry. Mille Feuille directly translates to thousand leaf. It just implies there are many layers to this pastry! A bit crumbly to eat, but it was quite good. Nice and flavourful with each layer. Delicious!

The Pistachio and cherry tart is described to be with pistachio cream and crunch, morello cherry compote, and raspbery and pistachio cake. I found this one to be just okay, I’m not the hugest fan of cherry, but overall, it was quite moist and enjoyable to eat.
Lastly, were the two croissants. The regular croissant was pretty good, but nothing that really wowed me. I’ve had better croissants elsewhere before. The almond croissant, however, was quite delicious. It was probably my favourite thing out of our entire selection. It was flakey, buttery, and delicious. My top recommendation!

For The macaron flavours, honestly, they were all quite delicious. I think I might like the green vodka one the best, but those were a unique order. Otherwise, I really liked the matcha black sesame! There are so many to try though! I’ll have to go back.
Overall, this is a really cool patisserie to go to! The interior is nice, the staff is super friendly, and the pastries are delicious. I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try if you’re in the neighbourhood! I went around and did a big food tour on a Sunday, so parking was free and not so bad!
