Tonight, I went to Cinnaholic for their soft opening. It’s a US franchise and this is their first Canadian location! If you haven’t heard, they specialize in gourmet cinnamon buns, that are completely vegan! You can read more about them on their website here.
To start off, your cinnamon bun costs $5.50, and you can choose your frosting (50 cents each) They have almond, amaretto, banana cream, cake batter, caramel, chai, chocolate, coffee, cream cheese, hazelnut, lemon, maple, marshmallow, orange, peanut butter, raspberry, strawberry, and vanilla.

Then you can customize it further with toppings (75 cents each)… Almonds, apples, bananas, blueberries, brownie bitesm chocolate chips, chocolate sauce, coconut, cookie dough, graham crackers, marshmallows, ‘Oreo’ Cookies, pecans, pie crumble, pretzels, raspberries, sprinkles, strawberries, strawberry jam, and walnuts.
Honestly, it is super overwhelming! They do have some suggestions and some “classics” that they offer. I opted to go with the blueberry pie and Jenn made her own with cream cheese frosting, oreo, strawberries, and brownie.

The cinnamon buns came out super soft and warm. It is a little bit of a wait because they make everything fresh. You order, they ask your name, and you wait for it to be called out. It comes out warm and pretty fluffy. It is a little bit on the sweet side, so I might opt to go with a different frosting next time like chai. There was only a little cinnamon flavour so that was bit disappointing.
Overall, not bad. It’s cool that it’s the first location in all of Canada! They also serve cookies, brownies, cookie dough and bite sized baby buns. I did have a chance to eat some cookies and I have to say, those are quite chewey and delicious. Sharon also went to the soft opening and you can read her thoughts here.
Looks yum
