Last week I went to Mayday Dogs for the first time. I was really excited for it last summer but then their grand opening kept getting postponed and I lost a bit of my enthusiasm so I took my time when I had an occasion to go to the arena to give them a try.
It’s located in Mercer warehouse by Vacancy hall in the basement. They have specials and seasonal menu items so I’d check out their website or instagram to check out what they are currently offering. For food, we got two dogs, the Danish Rodman, and the 95/96 Bulls, and their sticky tots.

The Danish Rodman comes with their hotdog, with apple ketchup, grainy mustard, diced onions, remoulade, crispy fried onion, house sweet pickle, and fresh dill. The house sweet pickle wasn’t as pickled as I would have liked, but it added a nice sweetness to the dog. The bun was really fluffy and overall it was pretty enjoyable.

The other dog we got was the 95/96 Bulls. This comes with mustard, neon relish, tomato, dill pickle, white onion, sport pepper, and celery salt. Also a pretty good hotdog. The bun was good and overall enjoyable.

I think my favourite thing was their sticky tots. This comes with house asian BBQ sauce, toasted seasame seed, kewpie mayo, and chives. Crispy and delicious. I really liked these tots!
Overall, I had a good time at Mayday Dogs. Their seating is a little bit weird, in that they have no tables and just have some bleacher-like seating. The toppings are what makes them unique.
