This weekend I was invited to the soft opening of Pampa’s new location in Ellerslie. It opens to the public on August 9, 2017, so be sure to check it out! The interior is nice and open with lots of windows. It has a few private rooms that you can book too if you have a work function or birthday, which is nice. Compared to its counterpart downtown, this location is much brighter. They have a large parking lot, and I’ve already had comments about how people are willing to drive south because parking is easier than downtown!
If you’ve never been to a Brazilian churrascaria, then I recommend giving Pampa a try. Pampa does unlimited barbecued meats and also has an amazing salad bar with over 50 items. It’s $50 for dinner or $25 for lunch, and you can opt to do just the salad bar, which is less.
At your table, there’s typically a disc with red or green on either side. Red indicates to the servers that your plate is full and you can’t handle any more meat, and green means go! There are 15 different kinds of meats that are served to you right at your table. Cuts include rib-eye, flank, rump, bacon-wrapped chicken thighs, bacon-wrapped steak, chicken drumsticks, parmesan-crusted wings, parmesan crusted pork loin, frog legs (tastes like chicken), chicken hearts, and more!
The salad bar is quite impressive, and I always have a hard time not filling up my plate! But you have to remember, the star of the night is the meat meat meat! One thing that you should definitely get though are these Brazilian cheese buns! They’re made with tapioca flour and are gluten free! Sooooo good.
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Pampa. I really like the ambiance and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The salad bar is good, the meat is impressive, and overall, it’s a very good time. Big thanks goes to Oscar and the team at Pampa and congratulations on the opening of their third location. Definitely give them a try!
