Little Brick is a small neighbourhood cafe. It’s located the neighbourhood of Riverdale. It’s close to the rivervalley and there are many biking trails nearby. There is tons of street parking nearby, and unless you’re in the neighbourhood or just know of its existence, it’s easy to miss. It’s also owned by the same owners as District, Elm, Salz, Fox Burger bar, etc.
They are known for their brunches, but have recently launched a summer Barbecue which is available Thursdays and Fridays from 4-8PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2-6PM. The interior is small and quaint, and on the shelves is a bunch of local products which are available for purchase.
They have several picnic tables outdoors with some seating inside. I actually really liked the ambience and vibe. There was a lot of families there with their kids just hanging out. I would really love it if the neighbourhood where I eventually settle has some sort of cafe/place like this where I could just relax and bring my kids.
For food, we went with their Memphis Mop Ribs and their 7 oz Burger. Both comes with choice sides, with options between the potato salad, baked beans, summer salad, or corn. We opted to get the potato salad and the corn.
The burger bun was the best part of the burger! So fluffy and delicious. The burger had a nice char and overall very pleasant to eat. The potato salad went nicely with burger and this was a great bite for dinner.
The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, but I found that the rub was a little bit too salty for my liking. They used the same rub for the corn, and it was a bit salty. Not my favourite ribs, but also not bad. I prefer my ribs to have a bit more heat and sweetness to them. Just different styles of ribs.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Little Brick. I can definitely see the appeal of this place and it being a location for the local community to gather. I would definitely recommend checking this place out for the BBQ or brunch. It’s family-friendly and budget conscious.
